Class Project

Class Projects 1

For Bethany's project, I followed the steps that she took to create her images. However, I took a photo on a plain wall instead of taking a photo of the subject at a dinner table, sitting, or any actions. I chose to take the photo with the subject on a blank wall so I could focus on the patterns which I  had drawn on. After I took the photo, Bethany explained to me how she did her work. She used markers to draw the patterns, usually using 2-3 different colors. I chose one, red. After I had drawn, Bethany told me to scan it rather than taking a photo of the final piece. She said that the colors popped out a lot better when she scanned it and it was very close to the print. Below is my take on Bethany's project.

For Danny's project, he focused on light painting. He focused on creating shapes as well as creating depth with the streaks of light. He did most of his shooting in the bathroom with the lights turned off. This created a very dark space that was perfect for light painting as it allowed the light to pop out from the darkness. Below is my take on Danny's project.

Malia was inspired by Idris Khan, her technique used multiple photos of the same subject and layered them to create an interesting dimension. Her photos were I black and white to create cohesiveness. For some strange reason, I was not able to put my image into black and white. Below is my take on Malia's project.

Declan's project focused on movement in the frame by shaking the camera. He used a longer exposure time to ensure he gets the shake he desires. In his most recent project his he kept the color in the photos, to create more of an understandable image. Below is my take on Declan's project.

For Pablos project, he said that he didnt like complex backgrounds and he liked simple black backgrounds better. I used a very simple photo for this one, as there is not much in the background. Below is my take on Pablo's light painting.
